Understanding fracture: a virtual experience through time and space

How does a crack actually form? Are cracks dangerous? And can fractures be stopped?
FRASCAL (fracture across scales) researchers are using computer simulations to address questions relating to fractures and are trying to improve our understanding of the fracture behavior of materials. FRASCAL invites you on a virtual expedition from the atomic level to geological scales. From bone fractures to rock fractures, every crack is analyzed.
