How do you look into the human musculoskeletal system while a person is moving? How do you know what forces are acting on the joints, muscles and bones and why do you need this? What would it look like if you tried to walk on Mars or Jupiter?
We'll show you how! Using various technologies, we can reproduce movements and simulate them in so-called biomechanical models. There are no limits to our imagination and we can visualize and analyse all kinds of environmental influences on movement and the forces at work. We use these findings to understand how voluntary and involuntary movements work, from the brain to the muscles, in order to design customized prostheses, exoskeletons or the perfect running shoe, for example. These insights also give us the opportunity to give advice for training for athletes to optimize their performance and prevent them from getting injured.
