In order to produce more powerful, cheaper and more durable solar cells, fuel cells or catalysers, it is essential to optimize the manufacturing process and properties of the materials used.
Researchers from the Department "Dynamics of Complex Fluids and Interfaces" at HI ERN demonstrate the possibilities offered by modern computer simulations using numerous examples. These include applications for pressure and coating processes, reactive flows and general transport processes at the interface between physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering.
Learn (and try it out for yourself!) how the most powerful supercomputers in Europe can help to understand processes and transport properties at the atomic to macroscopic scale.
